Vintage 1960s Candle Holder - Owl - Orange

This is an unusual ceramic candle holder in the shape of an owl

He has holes in the top for the light to come out, and an open tummy to fit the tea light (i assume)?

Marked 450 on his bottom, i think he may be German?
