Vintage 1960s 2 Way Walkie Talkie Set - Dan Dare - Boxed

This is a rare pair of vintage 1960s walkie talkies

With their original box, they no longer work, which seems to be common for these? apparently they never had batteries?

Missing the inside fittings in the box, but both walkie talkies are there, with connecting cables. 

Great condition, one of the walkie talkies has a small amount of cracking along the seam at the side.
