Vintage 1950s Chrome Nutcracker / Opener

This is a stylish piece of design.

This is unmarked, but judging by the other pieces found with it, i would date to the 1950s or 60s?

I'm not quite convinced it's a nutcracker, but cannot think of another use? maybe something bar related? either way, it's very stylish
