1980s Noddy & car moneybox gets a makeover
This vintage charity collection box gets a fresh new look
A familiar sight outside many shops in the past, the charity collection box is a rare site these days.
When i found this poor fella, he had been attacked with an angle grinder, was dull and missing much of his original colourful paintwork.
Many, many, many hours of labour from my other half, has seen this young man come back to his former glory. Vibrant colours and a glossy finish means any shop would be proud to have him outside them again.
As it happens, he has just gone off to a very good new home to live inside and be much admired.
Big noddy may be gone, but his baby brother is still available.
Not needing a makeover like big noddy, this table top version is actually a new piece, made by the original company who made them both, using the same moulds.
I would never normally do anything new on my website, as it's something i am very particular about, but when i saw baby noddy, i was desperate to introduce him to his big brother once again.
We have a giant bear living in our lounge (Geoffrey), who can sometimes be spotted in period TV shows, all the best houses have a giant money box you know.
