Fisher Price toys have been a part of so many childhoods. With their colourful plastics (and earlier wooden) pieces, simple shapes and designs, the factory has always got it spot on for little hands and now bigger collectors alike.

I always make sure to have a good selection of FP in stock at Pineapple Retro, as well as other toys of course. Being a big kid, hunting for these tactile little rainbow gems suits me just fine.

Of course now, like myself, folks who grew up with this stuff want to pass the love onto the next generation. Whilst FP have reissued many of the classic toys, and obviously continued to develop new pieces. The originals are still the best in my opinion. 

Look out for the date on each piece to check if it is an original or reproduction too. Generally paper labels aren't used as much now either, as they discovered they damage easily, so they have decals printed on instead.

I am often lucky enough to find original boxes with some pieces, which is a very handy resource as well as being very cool. You can check which pieces went with each set and ideas for play of course. 

These also make great gifts, as you can relive that classic 'present opening' scene from childhood. Ripping off the paper to reveal the classic colours and familiar designs of a beloved toy of the past. Maybe paired with some vintage wrapping paper (which i also happen to often stock).

I also hang onto spare parts to complete sets where possible. Even if the little people aren't always correct (some are very rare to get hold of) i will always try and include a family or whatever is required to make a playable set, as well as animals and vehicles too.
