Vintage 1970s Space Launcher 2001 - Retro Kids Toy
For the men over forty, you might remember this gem from the 1970's.
In it's Buck Rogers-style white and orange colours, it's a cracking example piece that is in fine condition all round considering it's four decades old.
The 'Space Launcher 2001' was sold in the UK by Grace Toys in the late 1970s and would have been the prize of many a young boy's toy collection.
All pieces are present including the functioning launcher, 6 projectiles(2 x Pink, 2 x Yellow, 2 x Green) with packet and the often missing plastic 'catcher' that can be attached to the top to play with friends or play individual games of skill, bouncing projectiles off walls or directly up in the air (see the packing shot for suggested ways to play).
This is a toy that rarely comes up for sale and even more rarely in such fine condition - very light wear on the box edges and some minor scuffs on the clear plastic catcher but very reasonable for a 40 year old toy - a proper collector's piece.
Note: Packaging states, "Recommended for children over 3 years old" but please be aware that safety regulations have changed since the 1970's and we recommend this item would be better enjoyed by nostalgic adults!
Designed in the UK, made in Hong Kong.
