We Love Orange Retro and Vintage for your home and lifestyle
Posted by Sophie Crocket on
Who doesn't love a bit of orange retro or vintage? It is such a happy colour, and not surprising i have rather a lot of it on the the Pineapple Retro website. Above shows some little lovelies to treat yourself or perhaps as gifts. The little Toucan is a brooch replica of the famous 1970s Toucan lamp, and at a much more affordable £12, rather than the hundreds for the original lamps (when you can find the rare bird). Another recurring theme on the site is flower power. I am lucky enough to stumble across a fantastic supplier for the wooden...
Turquoise Retro and Vintage living in harmony together
Posted by Sophie Crocket on
If you want to fill your retro home with fresh, zesty colour for summer, lime green and vivid turquoise are a good place to start. We have plenty of greens and blues in various shades, in vintage and modern retro, which work well together. A personal favourite of mine are these amazing turned eucalyptus wood candle sticks from Superliving of Denmark. I have added the option to choose a coloured candle when purchasing them too (after many customer requests). The candles also come from Denmark and are of the same high standard and amazing colours.. As an added bonus, my...

Designer Feature: Kitchen ware by Lotta Kuhlhorn of Sweden
Posted by Sophie Crocket on
Swedish designer, Lotta Kühlhorn is passionate about patterns and here, at Pineapple Retro we're proud to be stocking her beautiful, distinctive Scandinavian range of kitchenware by Koloni. In the 1990s Lotta was one of the first Swedish designers to use a more pop art approach. Like Warhol before her, she looked at everyday items and then turned them into bold graphic, almost cartoon-like prints and repeats. This method of simplifying and repeating was to become a foundation style of Lotta's, seeing her evolve into more geometric designs, incorporating beautiful symmetrical, repeating patterns. Lotta has experimented with a vast range of patterns over the years,...

Scandinavian Vintage Tin Tastic
Posted by Sophie Crocket on
Here at Pineapple Retro HQ I have been collecting vintage tins for years. I love the fact they have a purpose, as well as looking fantastic (I keep my buttons in some). The thought that many were filled with sweeties or biscuits, and seen only as a container, not expected to be collected today is part of the appeal for me. The variety and colours are great, especially when displayed together. I constantly have a flow of them through the website, so if you have an addiction, like me, then please check back About Sophie Sophie Crocket has over 10 years...
